WILL THE BATTERY CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR VERSTAPPEN? HORNER EXPLAINS

After a difficult Friday, it was business as usual for Red Bull Racing on Saturday during the sprint race. Max Verstappen won the sprint race, and Sergio Perez finished third. Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner looks back on the session positively.

Max Verstappen started the sprint race from fourth place and Sergio Perez from sixth. Both Red Bulls managed to improve on their starting positions. "It is a good start to the racing weekend. So, one and three and a very strong race pace. A good result," Horner said to Viaplay after the session.

Could the battery keep causing problems for Red Bull?

Both drivers suffered from battery problems. The team boss is not worried that this will have a further impact this weekend. "Just settings for different energy at different points around the circuit. So, sometimes you run different settings for the start of the race. So nothing untoward," Horner said.

From this season, parc fermé will remain open after the sprint race. This will allow teams to make changes before qualifying for the Grand Prix. "Well, it's interesting. You get a lot of information from that race. So, in the long run, we look pretty competitive. I think we're maybe slightly exposed on the shorter run. The benefit of our car, like the last couple of years, is really in the race. So, in qualifying, we expect to be tight over a single lap. But I think that sprint race gives us encouragement for tomorrow's race," Horner said.
