THE GAMBLE BROTHERS AND SHAUN BALFE WILL BE BACK IN RACING ACTION THIS WEEKEND FROM SILVERSTONE TO DONINGTON PARK AS MOTORSPORT SEASON TAKES OFF

Epperstone’s motor racing trio, the Gamble family are all on track for a mega busy weekend ahead, writes Paul Horton.

All three racing driver brothers George, Tom and Harry will be in action this weekend at local circuit Donington Park and at Silverstone.

27 year old, George Gamble will make his debut appearance this season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain Championship with Rosland Gold Racing by Century Motorsport at Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit.

He returns to the Porsche championship after a break of four years that saw him in 2018 finish 6th overall in the Pro class with 3 wins.

In 2019, he took a podium place in the championship, 3rd in Pro class too with 4 wins.

During the last two seasons (2022 and 2023) George has competed in the KwikFit British Touring Car Championship, with a rear wheel drive BMW 3 series and more recently has made a change to front wheel drive with Toyota in a Corolla GR Sport.

This season’s office for the 16 rounds is the 510 hp ‘Type 992’ 911 GT3 Cup car.

Launched in 2021, the latest generation of racing 911 is used in 11 Porsche one-make championships globally and will be new to Gamble but still home from home.

Recent testing of the super car for Gamble over the past few weeks has seen him top of the time sheets and pretty much the one to watch this season.

George said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Century Motorsport this season, and to be involved with Rosland Gold Racing this year in a premier championship.

“I feel like I have unfinished business in the championship after coming third in 2019, but I’m out to better that this year in my return to the championship”.

Brother, Tom Gamble (22) moves to Silverstone at the weekend, after a dream start in the British GT Championship two weeks ago, at Oulton Park.

He raced twice in the GT3 Pro-Am Class with Wakefield based Optimum Motorsport team with teammate Mark Radcliffe bringing the number 27 car home to finish fourth and second, taking the team to fourth in the championship.

The weekend sees Round Three, a three hour endurance at the Northamptonshire Silverstone track.

Older brother, Harry reaped rewards two weeks ago in the Ginetta GT Academy Championship in the Elite Motorsport Ginetta G56 GTA.

It was a phenomenal weekend for the 25 year old rookie and debut racer to motorsport.

He took three podiums out of three races scoring a second, third and first spot respectively.

He hopes that this weekend the races at Silverstone as well can be just if not better for him and the team.

Lincolnshire’s Shaun will be heading back to the Silverstone 500, reports Peter Scherer.

Balfe finished a solid second last year and will be looking for another podium finish as he shares his Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, with reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Champion Adam Smalley,
