WILLIE PETERS' HULL KR LEARNINGS TO BE MADE CLEAR IN TEAM SELECTION BEFORE SEMI-FINAL

Willie Peters insists he will pick the strongest team at his disposal for Hull KR's trip to Warrington - despite having a Challenge Cup semi-final on the horizon.

The Robins travel to the Halliwell Jones Stadium for their last match before the semi-final against Wigan Warriors, with the club just one win away from a second consecutive Wembley appearance.

After suffering heartbreak last year, winning the Challenge Cup this year is an inevitable focus for Rovers. However, Peters insists he will not prioritise it ahead of league action, with the Robins looking to go top of Super League with a victory on Thursday night.

"Definitely not," Peters said when asked if he would make changes with the semi-final in mind. "We're worried about this week and this week only. I think last year there was a certain time where we rested some players and you've got to get your learnings from different situations. That's probably one area where I learnt last year; just worry about the week ahead, that's the most important bit because in rugby league, anything can happen, can't it? So much can happen in a game.

"It can be cliched but I need to live it, we need to live it by worrying about the week ahead. We'll pick the best team we believe is available and there are five other coaches who help pick the team. All of the time majority rules and I'll get a final say on it, but I'm pretty comfortable with the decisions we make."

Rovers head into the contest with doubts over Elliot Minchella and James Batchelor, who are dealing with groin and eye injuries respectively.
