After wins for both Arsenal and Manchester City at the weekend, it’s still all to play for in the Premier League title race with just two weekends remaining.

Mikel Arteta’s side breezed past Bournemouth with a 3-0 home win early on Saturday to remain top of the table as the Gunners go in search of their first league title since the 2003/04 season.

City, however, kept pace with the league leaders later in the day, with Erling Haaland notching up four goals as Pep Guardiola’s side romped to a 5-1 win over Wolves.

The emphatic result pulled City back within one point of Arsenal and, with a game in hand over the title rivals, the defending champions still have the advantage as they look to become the first side ever to win four consecutive league titles.

What do Man City and Arsenal need to do to win the Premier League title?

With a game in hand over Arsenal, the task is simple for City – win all three remaining games and they will be crowned champions for a historic fourth successive year.

Arsenal, meanwhile, need to win their remaining two games and hope that City slip up in one of their final three games.

Arteta’s side, though, do have an important six-goal advantage when it comes to goal difference, meaning if City were to draw any of their final three games and Arsenal won their remaining two the trophy, in all likelihood, would head to north London.

What are Man City and Arsenal’s remaining fixtures?

Arsenal face a potentially tricky visit to Old Trafford next weekend. Erik ten Hag’s side put a dagger through Liverpool’s title hopes last month and may have another surprise up their sleeve as they look to keep their own European qualification hopes alive.

On the final day, Arteta’s side will host Everton who have enjoyed a resurgent few weeks to steer themselves clear of the relegation zone.

Man City, meanwhile, begin their final three games with an away trip to Fulham before their crunch midweek feature against Ange Posteoglou’s Tottenham.

Spurs have caused many an upset against Guardiola’s side over the years and also have plenty to play for in the final few games as they hunt down a spot in the top four.

On the final day, the defending champions are at home for the visit of West Ham whose form – and hopes of another season in Europe – has taken a hit in recent weeks.

When is the earliest Man City can win the Premier League title?

Should City beat Fulham on Saturday, the pressure would be firmly on Arsenal to keep the title race alive.

If the Gunners slip up and lose against Manchester United on Sunday, City would have the chance to win the league against Tottenham in midweek.

However, should both teams win their matches next weekend, the title race is guaranteed to go to the final weekend.

Can Liverpool still win the Premier League?

While still mathematically possible, Liverpool’s title hopes are essentially over after their derby-day defeat to Everton and a deflating draw against West Ham.

Should Jurgen Klopp’s side win their remaining two games they would reach 84 points, albeit with a far inferior goal difference.

To win the league, therefore, the Reds would require Arsenal to lose their two remaining games and City to pick up just one point from their final three games.

So not impossible but extremely improbable.
