‘UNBELIEVABLE’: ROY KEANE MAKES CELTIC-RANGERS COMMENT TODAY AFTER GARY NEVILLE'S CRITICISM

Roy Keane referenced Celtic’s games against Rangers when in discussion with Gary Neville about how teams possibly over-celebrate.

The former right-back was critical of how Arsenal celebrated their second goal against Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday, but ex-Bhoy, Roy Keane, was quick to shut him down.

The legendary midfielder stated ‘you don’t want’ a situation where players don’t celebrate, as he referenced Celtic’s Glasgow derby games against Rangers and how it was ‘unbelievable’, as he told The Overlap.

Albeit for a brief period of his career, Roy Keane played in two Glasgow derby games during his Celtic career, including winning away at Ibrox.

And you think he would have celebrated how he wanted and that’s by what some what deem today as ‘over-celebrating’.

Football is a passionate sport, and that emotion can’t be matched, especially during derby games, as Keane alluded to.

Roy Keane on Celtic-Rangers re Arsenal celebrations

“I go the other way,” said Keane. “I am also then critical of teams who don’t celebrate a goal. You don’t want that.

“I know you (Gary Neville) are picking into that, but it is a derby game. I don’t remember when we played against Man City or if I was at Celtic against Rangers and you scored, ‘it’s unbelievable’.

“But again, the point is, you are playing a top-level sport. You should be able to go ‘That is done. We switch back on’.”

Players should celebrate how they want

Nothing beats the rollercoaster of emotions that football provides fans, players and the media alike.

And many will tell you that it doesn’t get as passionate as the Glasgow derby, imagine someone criticising Kyogo or any other Celtic player, for over-celebrating?!

It sounds and is ridiculous. Players should celebrate however they wish because scoring goals is the heartbeat of the game.
