TOTTENHAM: FEYENOORD CONFIRM INTEREST IN OUTCAST BRYAN GIL AFTER FAILED JANUARY BID

Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Tottenham's forgotten man Bryan Gil.

The Erevisidie champions targeted Gil, 23, in January but the winger opted to stay at Spurs because he was enjoying working under Ange Postecoglou.

Gil, though, has not started for Spurs since December and is widely expected to move on in the summer transfer window.

"The fact that we are in the race for Gil has been the case for several transfer windows," Te Kloese told Rotterdam daily Algemeen Dagblad.

"We are looking again at what is possible. We offer a fantastic platform to give boys a good continuation of their career. Or to show themselves again. Gil is a good player, but there are many more clubs that are looking at that boy."

Gil joined Spurs from Sevilla in summer 2021 but has struggled to make an impression in English football, and has since spent time on loan back at his former club and with La Liga rivals Valencia.

He has started just twice under Postecoglou this term, a home defeat to Aston Villa and the 3-3 draw at Manchester City when Spurs were in the midst of an injury crisis.
