SON OF CHELSEA LEGEND ON HUNT FOR NEW MANAGER'S JOB AFTER HARRY REDKNAPP PRAISE

Anthony Hudson has left his job with Al Markiyah in Qatar by mutual consent.

Former United States coach Hudson, 43, is now free to speak to other clubs and will undoubtedly attract strong interest because of his experience and CV.

Hudson is one of English football’s most travelled managers but left his role as head coach Al Markiyah after just three matches. Former West Ham trainee Hudson agreed to take up a role as technical consultant but has now parted ways and is ready for his next career challenge.

Hudson, son of former Chelsea legend Alan, worked as United States assistant boss at the last World Cup. He then stepped in and became interim boss of the US after Gregg Berhalter stepped away from his position before being reinstated.

But Hudson oversaw the recruitment of Monaco’s former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun who pledged his allegiance to the United States rather than England despite playing for the Three Lions at youth level.

Hudson also brought back Nottingham Forest midfielder Gio Reyna into the international fold.

He was part of the US national team’s progression as they won the Gold Cup and Nations League as they beat Mexico in both finals and is highly regarded as a coach and strengthened his reputation while in the States.

Hudson gained notoriety by becoming one of the youngest coaches to get his badges after injury ended his playing career. Former West Ham boss Harry Redknapp has been effusive in his praise and Hudson has also spoken in the past of a desire to coach in the UK again.

He has also worked as New Zealand manager, for Bahrain and was boss of Colorado Rapids.

His most recent roles have been with Al Kass and BeIN Sports as a TV pundit for the Asia Cup and Qatari League matches.
