HULL FC NOTEBOOK: DANNY HOUGHTON SET FOR LATEST MILESTONE, CLUB CELEBRATE 25 YEAR VETERAN

Houghton's latest milestoneDanny Houghton is now Hull FC's joint-fourth highest appearance maker of all-time and will go outright fourth after Sunday's game at London Broncos. The veteran hooker, who debuted way back in 2007 against the capital club, has now played 445 times for the Airlie Birds, joining level with another famous hooker in Tommy Harris, who won two Championships under Roy Francis back in the 1950s.

Houghton is just five appearances off 450 games, and is just six behind Harold Bowman in third spot. Mick Scott currently sits in second place with 459 games while leader Ned Rogers has 499. The 35-year-old would need to play in 15 of Hull's 17 remaining regular rounds this year to end up in second spot, with the player, through his own admission, likely to retire at the end of the current season.

Ground tickHull FC will play at a new ground on Sunday afternoon, heading to Wimbledon's Cherry Red Records Stadium to take on London Broncos. It will be the 45th different venue to host the Black and Whites in a competitive Super League fixture. Hull last played in the capital back in 2019, defeating London 28-24 at Ealing's Trailfinders ground.

25 years and countingSasch Brook recently celebrated 25 years at Hull FC, delivering the match ball ahead of the club's recent home game against Leeds Rhinos. Joining the club in 1999, Sasch is the Team Manager for the Hull FC academy side. He also does the administrative duties for the club’s reserves and scholarship teams, and works for the City of Hull Rugby League district, organising all the fixtures for junior rugby league teams.

"I can honestly say that Rugby League has given me everything – it really has," he said in a recent interview with the club. "When I reflect on some of the memories I have had in this sport and at this club, I do get a little bit emotional. But the big thing for me is that I remember all of the great people in my life that I have met through Rugby League. I’ve met some absolutely awesome people; coaching staff, backroom staff, players, even players’ parents and family members."

Scott Taylor to run marathonScott Taylor will take part in Sunday's Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. The former Hull FC prop forward is raising funds for Rob's Discretionary Trust and, local rugby league coach Craig Eskrett in their battles with Motor Neurone Disease. Reserves defeat WireHull FC Reserves defeated Warrington Wolves 34-20 on Saturday afternoon in a game that featured overseas duo Franklin Pele and Jayden Okunbor, as well as winger Liam Tindall. Pele scored twice in the victory, with Davy Litten, Denive Balmforth, Sully Medforth, and Logan Moy also crossing over.

Scholarship gamesHull FC's scholarship side took on Wakefield Trinity in a series of modified games last Wednesday. The 30-minute games were played on a full pitch, with just 10 players per side. There were no scrums or conversions with tackles limited to two players. Hull won the first game 16-4 and the second 20-8. The third was drawn 16-16.

Girls taste cup winHull FC's under-16s girls side defeated Dewsbury Moor 36-6 in the Yorkshire Cup last Wednesday evening. C Sutton scored a hat-trick of tries while K. Faraimo, H. Black, and J. Smith crossed over during the win.
