MIKE TYSON PLEADS WITH JAKE PAUL NOT TO PULL OUT OF BOXING MEGA-FIGHT

Boxing legend Mike Tyson has begged Jake Paul to not pull out of their mega-fight.

'Iron Mike' is back in the ring when he faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul on July 20 at the 80,000 seat Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas. The controversial fight will be sanctioned as a professional bout despite there being a 31-year gap between Tyson and Paul, who has divided opinion since ditching his influencer fame for a ring career.

Tyson recently sat down with Damon Elliott to discuss his upcoming fight and the presenter warned Paul that he should think twice about getting in the ring. “Jake, I’ve know Mike since he smacked the s*** out of me at 14-years-old and my face has never been the same," Elliott said. Tyson then hilariously replied: “Do it Jake, please, don’t listen to this man. Jake, don’t listen to him, please.

Tyson also left Elliott baffled during the interview by claiming he is eating raw meat whilst preparing for his boxing return. When Elliott complimented Tyson's physique and asked about his diet, Tyson replied: "Raw meat. I'm going to have to eat it now because my opponent's going to be raw meat."

Paul is bulking up for the mega-fight as he looks to be a similar weight to Tyson, who weighed around 220lb during his reign as undisputed heavyweight world champion. Paul has been treating himself to steaks and burgers in training camp and wants to be a similar weight to Anthony Joshua before cutting down.

"I'm just getting to eat as much as possible and it turns out my body carries this weight super well and I'm only growing. I think I'll get up to 240 and probably cut down so I'm like way faster. If I'm training in this camp at 240lb and then I cut down to 220lb it's basically like I had a 20lb weight vest on for the whole entire camp," Paul said on his podcast.

'Iron Mike' hasn't competed in a professional bout for almost two decades but did return for a one-off exhibition fight against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in 2020. Tyson and Paul will wear 14oz gloves and no headgear in their fight, which unfolds over eight, two-minute rounds.
